About Paul's Workshop
Developed initially for Early Years practitioners (but also being taken by Special Needs Educators) this training will provide you with the confidence and the skills to deliver an exciting ‘Expressive Rhythm Story’ either as a one off session or as part of a longer project. Paul has been working with school children for over 15 years and has created a fun and engaging workshop to help you teach an Expressive Rhythm Story.
Over the course of two days we will work to develop your rhythmical, vocal and communication skills. No musical experience is required. Core content includes:
Expressive: Connect to self, emotions, values, experience, the story of me.
Rhythm: Beat and rhythm, pacing and leading, language of the drum and the voice connection.
Stories: Visualisation, map vs territory, voice work, body language, character development, rhythm story narration.
Whilst we primarily created the workshop for Educators we have had corporate trainers attend who value the use of story as metaphor. The skills are totally transferable.
